Stacy and Jacqueline Kamin have the most wonderful show up in the gallery right now. It is a mother-daughter show, and for those of us with daughters, it is even more revealing. This painting duo feeds off each other’s skills and delights bringing to bear formidable training from Masters like David Leffel and a keen eye for timeless subjects and soft drama. Each painting is a little gem in and of itself, but the really interesting playfulness of parent and child becomes intriguing as you walk the show hall. I was especially touched with the florals, beautifully rendered, one cannot tell in which century they were painted. Then suddenly out of no where there is a gritty garage painting (yes a garage interior, no less complete with mechanic! You can smell the axle grease) and a series of working figures, waitresses, bakers, musicians. Very fun indeed. Come on down and enjoy them at 11 Broad Street in Charleston, SC 29401 or of course on the web at www.mgalleryoffineart.com. There is also a very nifty demo on the web site from the ladies workshop held here all week as well.
